Kirsty Freeman – BNurs, PGradDipMid, GradDipEd 

Kirsty Freeman serves as Chair of the Media & Communications Committee and has been a member of SSH since 2010. Living in Perth, Western Australia, she is the Simulation Education Coordinator for the Postgraduate Medical Education Unit at Western Australian Country Health Service. Her professional interests include improving human performance and patient safety across a variety of disciplines, with a strong focus on faculty development. Kirsty is interested in supporting the international agenda for simulation in healthcare, connecting likeminded people enabling cross-pollination of ideas. Cynthia Shum

Cynthia Shum serves as Vice Chair of the Media & Communications Committee and has been a member of SSH since 2011.  She is the Director of Education and Operations for the Simulation Center at the VA Hospital in Palo Alto, California.  Cynthia also teaches part-time at the University of San Francisco and is involved with the California Simulation Alliance. Her professional interests include human factors, Crisis Resource Management, Interprofessional team training and faculty development for healthcare simulation education.  Cynthia is passionate about education and using social media and electronic platforms to share best practices and network people.  Cynthia may be reached by email at: shumz@sbcglobal.net.







 


Media & Communications Committee

The Media and Communications Committee shall be responsible for assuring the consistency and alignment of the Society’s brand in media and communications channels, including building global awareness of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare brand.
