Dear Members,
This message is to provide you with an update on the Bylaws review process and voting schedule. I know many of you are excited to move forward with greater clarity and I share your enthusiasm. However, I believe the review process has provided the opportunity for bettering the documentation, as well as for members to add their voices to the discussion directly. Thank you to the members who contributed to the discussion via SimConnect and direct email. Although not all changes were accepted for inclusion in the Bylaws document, all were carefully considered and, if not appropriate for Bylaws, many will be addressed through policy documents. Your input is sincerely appreciated.
Under the leadership of Paul Phrampus, the Bylaws Committee met several times to discuss the suggestions from members and are putting their recommendations before the Board of Directors for review and vote during their March 10th meeting. If the Board of Directors approves the recommended Bylaws, we will open voting to the membership shortly thereafter.
Voting will be by electronic ballot. It is very important that ALL members vote in this election, even if you don’t usually participate. This vote is essential for achieving the changes you requested as members and the long-term stability of the organization. No matter how you vote, PLEASE VOTE!
I want to extend my personal appreciation to our wonderful SSH staff who coalesced all of the member feedback into documents that facilitated the Bylaws Committee’s work, as well as the Bylaws Committee and its chair, Paul Phrampus, for working so thoughtfully on such a tight time line.
All of those involved make SSH such a great organization!
