The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) announces that, after nearly 11 years of service as founding and current Editor in Chief of the SSH peer-reviewed indexed journal Simulation in Healthcare, Dr. David Gaba has decided to step down as EIC no later than July 1, 2016 (one year from now). Dr. Gaba will remain on the Editorial Board. An open search for the new EIC will begin within the next one to two months, with a call for nominations (self or otherwise).   An EIC Search Task Force will be created to evaluate nominees and to advise the SSH Board of Directors as to a final selection.

Simulation in Healthcare is the premiere multidisciplinary journal on the topic in the field. It is stringently peer-reviewed and is indexed in Index Medicus (PubMed). It is published six times per year electronically and in print, and currently is in the middle of Volume 10. New content is available only to members of SSH and to non-member subscribers; content older than 1 year is open access to all.

SSH is grateful for Dr. Gaba's pioneering leadership in founding SiH; in overseeing its growth; and in creating and maintaining its high editorial standards as the SSH's flagship scholarly publication. Further information about the nomination and selection process for the new EIC will be announced through all SSH media as soon as these processes are defined by the Board of Directors.

Respectfully,

SSH Board of Directors
