The Global Network for Simulation in Healthcare (GNSH), established in 2010, convened its 5th annual meeting in Edinburgh, Scotland from July 7th through the 9th, 2014. Over 40 representatives from healthcare simulation representative organizations and simulation commercial industry partners had a unique opportunity to discuss important and specific areas of interest.

  This year's meeting is the first time that GNSH member organizations and commercial organizations have joined to enhance the dialogue and productivity towards the common goal of enhancing patient care, efficiency, and efficacy through healthcare simulation. Discussions focused on: 

•  How to engage and influence decision makers to advance simulation: Government, Professional and PatientGNSH Associations, and the broader Healthcare Industry.

•  Whether to develop a process of targeted and meaningful investigation, evaluation, & research activity to accelerate the advancement healthcare simulation. 

•  Whether to develop specific actionable technical, equipment, and product standards to accelerate the advancement of healthcare simulation

The member organizations committed to working together over the next year by developing a list of action items and work product. Additionally the membership of the GNSH has now expanded to include commercial entities present at the meeting. Membership now stands at 24 organizations.
