SSH Announcement > The Society for Simulation in Healthcare

I am pleased to share some exciting news about the June issue of Simulation in Healthcare.

  • First, a new feature for the journal makes its debut in this issue. In 2017, the SSH Scientific Content Committee initiated the Future Investigators in Research, Education, and Simulation (FIRES) program as a process to streamline publication in Simulation in Healthcare of high-quality research presented at IMSH. Three submissions were selected from IMSH 2018 and represent the first FIRES papers to be published in the journal. Congratulations to the authors and the FIRES committee on a job well done.

  • Second, we are publishing a supplement with the issue. In 2011, the journal published its first supplemental issue comprised of monographs from the first SSH Research Consensus Summit. In 2017, the Society convened its second research summit, titled Beyond Our Boundaries, and I am proud to present a compilation of eight articles from that meeting in the journal's second supplemental issue.

I hope you enjoy these two publications and find the authors' research stimulating. Most of all, I hope that the ideas offered in these issues inspire you to submit your work to the FIRES program, to attend and participate in future research summits and to share your research in Simulation in Healthcare

Sincerely,

Mark W. Scerbo, Ph.D., FSSH, FHFES
