We all have stories from the past year, don’t we? In many ways, both personally and professionally, we learned so much about ourselves, our processes, our abilities, our passions, and what we’re able to accomplish in our greatest moments of need.
As healthcare Simulationists, your stories are some of the most unique and most important ones in the world. In so many ways, your patients and your communities needed you more than they ever did. We know you rose to the challenge. We watched. We read. We heard.
In so many ways, you saved worlds.
We want you to share those stories with us so that we can share them at SimOps 2021. Even if you aren’t planning to attend, we want you to show your stories of answering the call when you were asked, your stories of triumph, your stories of kindness, your stories of relief.
We want to celebrate “you”!
So, show and tell us what you’ve learned, what you’ve done, and how you’ve grown personally and professionally. Here’s how we need you to take part:
Start by filling in the blank: “I grew and developed in my simulation role by …”
Then, put that answer in a video (visual representation) no longer than 15-20 seconds. Audio is okay to include, but we may not use it in final edit/production. (That said, if you do include audio with your video, please try to limit all other noise in the room or use a microphone so that it is clear and hearable.)
A really important NOTE: Be sure to film any phone/smart device video with phones turned horizontally. (This will prevent the big black box from appearing around your video on playback.)
Once recorded, post your video on Facebook, Instagram, and/or Twitter, and also send it to our Dropbox (email email@example.com for Dropbox info) in .mp4 or .mov format. When you post on social, use hashtags #simops2021 and #simopsstories so we can search for and locate them.
The DEADLINE for stories submissions is June 14.
If you have more questions about putting your story submission together or about SimOps and SimOps DELIVERS, set to take place July 14-16, 2021, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or check out our event webpage.
Thank you, and we look forward to seeing your stories!
