Greetings, Colleagues!

IMSH is right around the corner! So excited to see my sim peeps in person in Los Angeles this January!

On that note, if you haven’t registered yet, you should do so before this Friday, Oct. 15, and save $200 on your registration! Of course, you can still register after that, but who doesn’t want to save a little money?

Regarding Los Angeles, you know as well as I do by now requirements for in-person events are in a constant state of flux. That’s why SSH Staff continues to keep close watch on the latest in-person event information out of Los Angeles County, Los Angeles, and the CDC. You can check those sources through the IMSH 2022 microsite and stay in the know as to what requirements will be to keep us all safe and to be able to get together.

Okay, to fast forward a bit … I want to draw your attention now to several onsite items …

For those of you who attended the President’s Diamond Ball at IMSH 2020, I’m guessing you had a great time like I did! After a learning packed day of Immersive and Pre-Conference Courses in L.A., the Diamond Ball is set for Saturday, Jan. 15, 6 p.m., and will be as good if not better! Make sure you add a Diamond Ball ticket (or several!) to your registration when filling out your information. It sold out last time so get them soon!

Per usual, we will again have different interest group meetings happening on site. Hopefully, you have been receiving information about when those meetings are scheduled to take place. If you have any questions about that, please check the full schedule once it is released at IMSH2022.org or email admin@ssih.org with questions.

We again will have a fantastic lineup of plenary and keynote speakers. The IMSH 2022 Planning Team has done a magnificent job pulling that talent together, and I’m sure you’ll learn from and enjoy each of them.

We’ll kick things off on Sunday with The Chad Epps Inaugural Lecture presents Henry Timms: New Power – The Modern Nature of Influence in a Changing World. Then, on Monday, we’ll have The Lou Oberndorf Lecture on Innovation and Healthcare Simulation presents Erica Dhawan: Get Big Things Done. The Power of Connectional Intelligence.

Tuesday will feature the Michael S. Gordon Center Lecture on Medical Education presents Yassmin Abdel-Magied: Transformative Leadership. And, IMSH 2022’s closing plenary on Wednesday will showcase Dr. Vineet Arora: How Education can Advance Equity.

Stellar!

The events I mentioned and speakers lineup are just some of the highlights coming in January, and I sincerely hope you’re able to join us for those and everything else amazing in Los Angeles!

Please continue to check out IMSH2022.org as information is updated regularly with the calendar moving close to event time. And, I’ll leave you with this quick, energizing reminder to get registered!

Until next month …
