SSH Appoints New Executive Director > The Society for Simulation in Healthcare

January 25, 2014: The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) Board of Directors is pleased to announce Jennifer Manos, RN, MSN, MBA as the organization’s new Executive Director. Ms. Manos is a seasoned director having served as the Interim Executive Director, the Associate Executive Director, project manager for the 2nd Asia Pacific Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare, and the Director of Accreditation for SSH. Her experience also includes 10 years as a pediatric critical care and trauma resuscitation nurse and as an Education Specialist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Center for Simulation and Research (CCHMC).

Board President Pam Jeffries said, “The Board of Directors looks forward to continuing to work with Jennifer. She has proven to be an effective leader of SSH and a passionate advocate for our mission of facilitating excellence in healthcare education, research and practice through simulation modalities.”

Upon accepting the position, Ms. Manos noted, “Continuing to expand our membership, and the educational and networking opportunities we offer members as they advance in their careers will truly create a powerful force for the field of healthcare simulation. I am looking forward to building on the great foundation that SSH has developed. “

Ms. Manos received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing, Master’s of Science in Nursing, and Masters of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. In addition to serving on numerous committees at CCHMC, Ms. Manos is involved in research surrounding patient safety, teamwork and communication, the detection of latent safety threats through multi-disciplinary simulation training, and developing a hospital-based simulation program. She has presented at conferences regarding simulation research, projects in simulation, and on behalf of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
