Hello, Colleagues!
We’re into November, and it truly is a season of plenty! Before I dive into important health updates and requirements regarding IMSH 2022, I want to recognize the latest class of CHSE-A and CHSOS-A earners!
Part of the SSH mission is to “serve our members by fostering education, professional development, and the advancement of research and innovation”, so we should always celebrate those who take the time and energy to improve their skills and help raise the SSH and healthcare simulation tide.
To that end, CONGRATULATIONS to the following individuals:

Again, congrats to everyone and to segue, I’m hoping you will be joining us in Los Angeles for IMSH 2022.
I CAN’T WAIT to see everyone in person in Los Angeles! It’s almost time! At last check, nearly 1,300 people have registered to attend in person, and I couldn’t be happier about that. The content is shaping up to be some of the best we’ve ever had, and getting to see all of the pieces come together under the “Reunite. Connect. Advance.” theme is pretty exciting.
Can I say it again? We’re going to be in person!
On that front, SSH Staff continues to stay on top of local, state, and federal mandates and guidelines for events. In that due diligence, it was discovered there is an online form that all travelers to Los Angeles are expected to complete.
It doesn’t take long, and it is simple to fill in. Please make sure you do if you’re planning to attend in person. Click here to fill it out.
Also, Staff continues to work with the Los Angeles Convention Center in making sure we do everything expected of us as we hold an event at that venue. We know you have had questions regarding vaccination and mask requirements. We’ve had a lot of the same questions!
We now have clear guidance on those expectations. In short:
- Masks are required in any indoor setting.
- Full vaccination OR a negative test performed within 72 hours of entry is required.
We have a full list of what “fully vaccinated” means, what vaccines are accepted both domestically and internationally, how to provide proof of vaccination, and more all on the IMSH 2022 microsite. Please read the fully updated COVID-19 information page at IMSH2022.org.
And, lastly, your SSH Board of Directors has its next meeting next week. We’re putting the wraps on this year for the most part, and I would like to thank the Board for its leadership and vision through a year that was stuffed plenty full of twists and turns as we continued to steer our Society and industry back toward in-person events.
Even with some of those challenges, we accomplished so much this year, and in this month of November, I’m so thankful we had such passionate, dedicated, professional friends and colleagues in their positions of leadership when we did.
