Mars is closer than you think! Join us as Kim Binsted shares new viewpoints and applications from another world of simulation through NASA’s ground-breaking work in simulating life on Mars. Kim Binsted is the principal investigator on HI-SEAS and will discuss the previous missions, including Mission III, which concluded on June 15, 2015, and Mission IV, which began on August 4, 2015. Each mission places a 6-member crew in a simulated Mars environment in which they eat, sleep, and work as if they were living on the “red planet”. Learn about the habitat, research, and team dynamics during the long-duration Mars missions here on Earth.
