A truly international course for SP-educators that gives you the opportunity to meet and work with international colleagues shaping simulated patients’ education around the globe. • 3-days Campus-Based Masterclass, advanced level
• Emphasis of the course is on (inter)active learning-by-doing. You will be asked to bring in your own SP cases that will be utilized during the conference.
• The collaboration between SHE and ASPE (Association of Simulated and Standardized Patient Educators) makes this course unique. The workshop will provide a platform for exchange of (international) experiences.
STUDENT PROFILE:
Course level will focus on staff (SP-educators) that already have (some) experience in working with SPs and specifically targets to attract a variety of SP-educators from a number of countries, encouraging national and foremost international collaboration.
OBJECTIVES:
• The theory behind Standardized/Simulated Patient Methodology using a variety of techniques to train SPs
• Designing assessments using SPs
• Training SPs to provide feedback
• Conducting quality assurance of SP performances
• Recruiting, selecting and managing a successful SP bank
• State of the art research with SPs; how to choose an SP research topic
• Skills how to teach others (faculty development)
