Description:

OVERVIEW: We will guide participants through the creation, design, and implementation of a proficiency-based central line training program. We have successfully implemented this as a mandatory course at our home institution for all incoming post-graduate year 1 (PGY1) and fellows. We will demonstrate the efforts needed to create such a program for all necessary learners to have a basic understanding of central line insertion. REGISTER

OBJECTIVES:

  1. Use a needs assessment to evaluate the need for a proficiency-based training program for procedures (such as central line)
  2. Understand the benefit of proficiency-based training programs and the steps to starting a procedural proficiency-based simulation training program
  3. Identify the key stakeholders needed to develop the curriculum a proficiency-based training program
