STATEMENT OF INTEREST
I ask for your support in my consideration for the role of Chair-Elect of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare Academy of Fellows. I have been involved with SSH since its early days and have had the privilege of serving the Society in several leadership roles, including Past President, IMSH Co-Chair, Board member, and, most recently, Chair of the Governance Committee. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the Society’s mission and the responsibility we share in advancing healthcare simulation.
The Academy of Fellows holds a unique and important place within SSH. From its inception, the Academy was intended to recognize sustained contributions to the field while also bringing together experienced leaders who can mentor others, guide the Society, and help shape the future of healthcare simulation. At its best, the Academy is both an honorific body and a community of service and stewardship.
If elected Chair-Elect, my goal would be to work collaboratively with Fellows and the Academy Board of Governance to ensure that the Academy remains aligned with its foundational purpose. Key priorities include reaffirming the Academy’s mission and expectations for Fellows, reviewing and simplifying Fellowship processes to ensure transparency and fairness, and strengthening communication and trust within the Academy.
I believe Fellowship should recognize meaningful contributions to healthcare simulation while fostering mentorship, leadership, and service to the broader community. By working together, we can ensure that the Academy continues to honor excellence while actively advancing our profession.
Thank you in advance for your support.
