SSH Announces Harder as New Editor-in-Chief for Simulation in Healthcare Journal

HARRISON, OHIO (Feb. 26, 2025) – The Society for Simulation in Healthcare is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicole Harder, RN, PhD, CHSE, CCSNE, as Editor-in-Chief of Simulation in Healthcare, effective February 15, 2025.

Dr. Harder brings a wealth of editorial experience and a distinguished career in healthcare simulation education and research. She previously served as Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Simulation in Nursing, where she played a pivotal role in increasing the journal’s impact and visibility. Additionally, she has contributed as an editorial board member for Advances in Simulation and has been a respected leader in the global simulation community. Her expertise has been recognized through invited keynote presentations at leading international conferences, including SESAM, INACSL, and Simulation Canada.

"I am committed to expanding the journal’s reach and continuing to advance the field of healthcare simulation across disciplines and emerging technologies," said Dr. Harder. "Simulation in Healthcare will remain a premier platform for groundbreaking research, innovative simulation-based education, and interdisciplinary collaboration."

SSH also extends its deepest gratitude to Dr. Mark Scerbo for his nearly nine years of outstanding service as Editor-in-Chief since June 2016.

During his tenure, the journal has significantly grown in impact, strengthened its reputation as a leading publication in healthcare simulation, and fostered a global community of researchers and educators. His dedication to advancing the field and mentoring scholars has left a lasting legacy.
