The Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) continues to advance its mission through the SSH Development Fund — our philanthropic arm supported by members and donors. The Fund fuels priority programs that reflect the values and vision of our community, including research grants, SimVentor Awards, Beverlee Anderson Scholarships, and the Chad Epps Lecture Endowment.
The SSH Board has recently voted to reaffirm a dual-purpose development strategy: providing annual support for high-impact initiatives while building a long-term endowment to ensure sustainable funding. Our long-term goal is to grow the endowment to $1 million by 2034 — and ultimately to $1.5 million — to fully fund these programs through investment earnings.
Under a 50/50 model, annual donations are allocated equally to programmatic support and endowment growth, with additional support from SSH operations to meet our annual $70,000 program target. In 2024, this model successfully funded our program goals and contributed over $60,000 to the endowment.
Looking ahead, the SSH Development Committee is excited to launch new 2025 initiatives leading up to IMSH 2026. These efforts include a multi-year “momentum campaign” and enhanced donor engagement strategies.
To better align with our strategic goals, we have also introduced new giving categories: Founder, Pillar, Champion, Benefactor, Patron, and Supporter. These categories offer meaningful opportunities for individuals and organizations to partner with SSH in advancing healthcare simulation for years to come.
Thank you for all of your support to this point, and we look forward to what's to come.
