Lately, I have been reminded just how much is moving through SSH at any given moment.
Events, committees, councils, community groups, planning meetings, partnerships, and projects are all advancing at once. It is a great deal of activity, but what stands out most is how connected it feels. The same people who help us strengthen today’s programs are also helping us imagine what SSH and healthcare simulation need next.
That spirit carried directly into SimOps 2026 at CAMLS.
This year’s event set a new attendance record with more than 315+, but the number tells only part of the story. The community feeling was present from the opening night Kickoff Party, supported by Simulab, through the final sessions. People came ready to learn, connect, solve problems, and spend time with peers who understand their work. I have heard from members of the SSH Board of Directors and many others who attended, and the feedback has been remarkably consistent: SimOps was truly an outstanding event.
One specific moment I will remember for a long time was the signing of the CISA agreement between Morocco Sim and SSH.
The room was packed with our Board and about 100 attendees present to witness the partnership. It was a meaningful demonstration of how healthcare simulation continues to connect people across borders through shared standards and shared goals. The authentic Morocco National Team soccer jersey presented to SSH made the moment even more personal. It was generous, memorable, and a wonderful symbol of the relationship we are building.
Our members will soon have another important opportunity to shape SSH’s future as voting for the SSH Board of Directors will open shortly.
Please watch for communication from SSH and take part in electing the leaders who will help guide this organization. Strong governance depends on an engaged membership, and your vote matters.

The pace across SSH is constant, but so is the source of that energy.
SSH truly is the professional home for all who work in healthcare simulation. So much of the momentum we feel across the organization and the field comes directly from the passion, time, and effort our members contribute every day. You serve, teach, lead, review, present, mentor, volunteer, and keep finding new ways to move this work forward.
I am deeply grateful for that commitment.
The work ahead is significant, but so is the community carrying it. I continue to be inspired by what we are building together and confident in where that shared energy can take us next.
