Exciting Updates from the SSH Accreditation Council
Hello to you!

In January, the SSH Accreditation Council accredited 73 programs at IMSH 2025 -- and the momentum hasn’t slowed down! Even in the midst of a busy application cycle, the Council continues to grow its team and expand services to better support the simulation community.
In response to evolving trends in healthcare—such as the merging of major hospital systems and the rising number of Multi-Site and Consortium applications—the Council has introduced a standardized process and updated cost structure specifically for these types of applicants. These enhancements are designed to better serve the unique needs of complex programs.
- A Multi-Site Program is defined as a single program operating across multiple physical locations.
- A Consortium consists of multiple organizations collaboratively administering and delivering a program at their respective sites.
If your program falls into either category and you're interested in applying, please check it out!
New Human Simulation Standards
We’re also thrilled to officially announce the launch of the Human Simulation Standards. After piloting this new accreditation area in winter 2024, SSH proudly accredited the following programs at IMSH 2025:
- Carolinas Simulation Center
- Center for Healthcare Improvement and Patient Simulation (CHIPS)
- USF Health Simulation Consortium / USF Health (USFHSC)
Following the successful completion of a second pilot phase, the Human Simulation Standards have been finalized and are now available on our website and within the electronic application portal. Beginning with the July 15 application deadline, programs may apply for Human Simulation Accreditation through:
- SSH Full Accreditation
- SSH Provisional Accreditation
We’re incredibly excited to support this next evolution in simulation-based education and training, and we remain committed to advancing excellence through SSH Accreditation.
We are proud of the progress we’ve made and remain steadfast in our mission to elevate the standardization of healthcare simulation. We look forward with enthusiasm to what we will accomplish throughout the rest of the year.
Sincerely,
Kristyn Gadlage
SSH Director of Accreditation
