IMSH 2021 in-person meeting cancelled; Redefined Virtual IMSH 2021 in development > The Society for Simulation in Healthcare
JOIN/RENEW SSH

With a heavy heart, in light of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and its effect on rules regarding large public gatherings, the Society for Simulation in Healthcare is announcing the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH) in-person meeting is canceled. A Redefined Virtual IMSH, focused on education and industry, is in development.

The decision came from the Board of Directors after it was determined it is not feasible to hold a meeting in person due to city and health guidelines in New Orleans, Louisiana, where IMSH was scheduled to be held January 9-13, 2021.

“The health and safety of our simulation community is our greatest priority,” said SSH President Bob Armstrong. “Given the current and future COVID-19 forecast, it is prudent for SSH to cancel the in-person version of IMSH. This was not an easy decision, and we are saddened that we will not be able to enjoy this year in New Orleans, including the amazing hospitality, sights, and sounds provided by our friends there. From here, our attention turns to preparing the Redefined Virtual IMSH, while also supporting the educational needs of SSH members and the simulation industry at large in the best way possible.”

Details regarding the Redefined Virtual IMSH will be released on SSIH.org, through email, and SSH social media channels as they become available in the coming weeks. We expect to be able to announce program specifics by mid-October.

Future dates for IMSH include:

2022 - Los Angeles, Calif. (Jan. 15-19)

2023 - Orlando, Fla. (Jan. 21-25)

2024 - San Diego, Calif. (Jan. 20-24)

Sincerely,

Jennifer L.  Manos, MBA, MSN, RN
