Get Involved. Join an Interest Group!
Representing virtually every major area of simulation SSH offers 30 Interest Groups to its members, providing connection with others whose interests overlap. Free membership in Interest Groups is a benefit to all SSH members. To join an interest group, simply update your Profile.
Non-members are encouraged to join Affinity Groups to begin working with SSH members.
Sections are formed to provide opportunities for members to advance simulation in their area of interest, to increase opportunities for participation and leadership in SSH, and to identify educational opportunities for the Society's conferences and events. Sections must have been an active SIG for two years and have sustained membership of 100 SSH Members for two years.
Sections also receive staff assistance and support in setting up teleconference meetings for its members. Sections also have the option to hold regional meetings, with Board approval.
Special Interest Groups (SIG)
Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are comprised of active SSH members with a common interest in a specific area of simulation. SIGs have 30 or more members dedicated to advancing simulation in their area of interest and supporting the vision and mission of SSH.
SIGs also receive staff assistance and support in setting up teleconference meetings for its members.
Affinity Groups are comprised of both SSH members and non members with a special interest in a particular area of simulation. The purpose of the Affinity Group is to provide opportunities for individuals to advance simulation in their area of interest, to increase opportunities for participation in SSH, and to promote and advance the purposes and activities of SSH.
An Affinity Group can be formed by a member or non-member of SSH, with at least 20 SSH members supporting the formation of the group. After an Affinity Group has been active for two years it can transition to a SIG, with Board approval.
