Perioperative Special Interest Group

Update your Profile to Join this SIG    Affinity Group formed in November 2013  and became a SIG in 2014.  This SIG represents a large and important specialized hospital environment that carries its own unique sets of problems.

The goal of the SIG is to break down the traditional silos that isolate the disciplines of nursing, anesthesia, surgery, and obstetrics and gynecology with respect to training, education, simulation, and research.

The SIG plans to use simulation to promote teamwork, and to improve the quality and safety of perioperative care through collaborative educational offerings at IMSH meetings.  In addition, the group also plans to promote the development of novel education and training modalities specific to the perioperative setting, and to foster research to evaluate the effectiveness of these novel training modalities and strategies.

We welcome you to join the discussion!
