Certification Exam Prep Resources

2017 CHSE & CHSOS Readiness Review Courses

The following resources will help you prepare for the examination; the list does not include courses and/or materials that have not been developed by or endorsed by SSH.

 Examination Blueprint

The examination blueprints list the domains and elements for each certification.  They were developed as a result of an extensive Practice Analysis for each certification.  Every question on each exam must map back to an element in the blueprint for that exam. The exam blueprints are considered the cornerstone for all preparatory resources, and each resource has been developed to the exam blueprints.

 Reference Lists

The following reference lists help you gather resources for preparation.  The lists are extensive, and are not intended to indicate that you should read every resource.  Instead, you should focus your reading efforts on areas you have identified as needing more learning.

 Practice Examination

Short practice examinations have been written by the same individuals who wrote the CHSE and CHSOS exams.  They are 30-question exams that are mapped to the same large domains as the full exams.  After you have taken the test, you can review the questions you answered correctly and which ones you did not.  In addition, each item has had rationales written to help you gain insight into why answers are "best".  These are great tools! There is a $75 (USD) charge to take the practice exam, and it remains available to you for 30 days after you sign up to take it.
