Chair, Robin Wootten, PhD, MBA, BSN, RN

Dr. Robin Wootten is a nurse with over 25 years of experience in perinatal and healthcare simulation settings. Her experiences include staffing in the Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, NICU, Surgery, and the Recovery Room settings as well as over 10 years of administrative experience as a Service Line Director of Women's Health, Perinatal Services, and Pediatrics.

She was the inaugural Director of the Healthcare Simulation Program at the University Of Missouri School Of Medicine in 2006. While building the simulation program, she also oversaw the construction of the program’s 10,000 square foot Clinical Simulation Center located in Columbia, Missouri.

Robin was elected to the Board of Directors of the International Society for Simulation in Healthcare in 2007 and was recruited after a year to become the Executive Director of the Society. During her tenure as CEO, Dr. Wootten established the first staff of the society, initiated the accreditation and certification programs, and had full oversight of the annual International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare and the Society’s journal, Simulation in Healthcare. In her role, she also published articles and traveled around the world as a spokesperson for the Society.

Robin joined Limbs & Things as the Global Chief Learning Officer in 2014. She is based in the Kansas City, Missouri area and enjoys “snowbirding” in Florida with her husband, Paul during the winter. Robin and Paul have four children and one grandson. robin.wootten@limbsandthings.com
