Full Submission Details

CONTENT TRACKS

  • Patient Safety and Quality Improvement:  Proposals showcase evidence-based simulation interventions that improve competency and patient safety, ensuring better patient outcomes and enhancement of overall healthcare quality.
  • Assessment and Evaluation:  Proposals demonstrate: a) creation, application and collection of assessment instruments across a variety of domains including individual and team behaviors and psychomotor skills or b) the facilitation and implementation of robust evaluation metrics in simulation training. Proposals should provide insights and perspectives on the analysis and utilization of assessment and evaluation data in meeting individual, team, facility and programmatic objectives as applied to specific or generic simulation training programs.
  • Program Administration:  Proposals address the many facets of simulation center management and administration, including organization & governance; human resource management; financial & fiscal management; scheduling; continuous quality improvement activities; security & confidentiality maintenance; policy & procedure framework; and centre sustenance initiatives.
  • Faculty Development: Proposals address the recruitment, training, debriefing & feedback strategies, professional development and evaluation of simulation faculty to teach and debrief in the simulated learning environment.  Those that showcase and demonstrate the application of learning theories to simulation faculty training are also included in this category.
  • Technical Operations: Proposals that cover simulation center technical operational considerations including scenario programming, equipment repair & maintenance, facility maintenance, course preparation, use of technology, novel moulage & improvisation techniques and professional development strategies for the operations specialist.

  • Instructional Methods: Proposals should showcase different ways simulation education can be used to deliver effective learning interventions.  Examples of specific scenarios, curriculum delivery and debriefing formats as applied to an individual simulation program are appropriate.  This track includes content on the development and analysis of simulation-based curricula. Instructional methods that highlight and deal with psychological safety, cross linguistic & cross cultural boundaries and strategies to overcome such barriers in simulation training are welcome here.
  • Research Methodologies: Proposals should enable both beginner and advanced researchers to better design, analyze and implement research initiatives in simulation-based education. This category includes strategies in effective writing and presentation of research projects in simulation-based education.
  • Interprofessional Education (IPE): These proposals explore interprofessional team training, designing scenarios for interprofessional learners, developing IPE programs across disciplines and effective strategies on the design, implementation and integration of simulation-based education into an interprofessional training environment.
