Affiliated Organizations Call

Dear SSH Members,

We would like to take this opportunity to invite all members of the Society who have expressed interest in working with the Society’s affiliated organizations (http://www.ssih.org/About-SSH/Affiliated-Organizations) to apply for a position on the Affiliation Subcommittee (ASC) work group. 

The Affiliation Subcommittee work group is working towards improving the quality of the SSH affiliation experience through developing collaborative working relationships. This position includes working on the dissemination of information about current and potential benefits of affiliation with SSH to individual affiliates.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Affiliation Sub-committee Committee work group,  please submit, by Wednesday, April 5, a brief CV (<300 words with your online submission) to convey your interest in serving as a ASC workgroup member.  Fluency in one or more foreign languages would be an advantage.

The term of service is one year with a mutually agreed option to extend. Members of the workgroup should plan to participate in monthly affiliation subcommittee telephone meetings as well as  in-person face to face meetings @ IMSH.

Governance Committee Call

Dear SSH Members,

We’d like to offer heartfelt thanks for your contributions to committees, working groups, and task forces during previous years. We know your time is valuable and consider your service to the Society a tremendous honor. We would like to take this opportunity to invite all members of the Society who have expressed interest in association governance to apply for the open positions on the Governance Committee. The Governance Committee will be compromised of members who represent a spectrum of expertise and experience in healthcare simulation.

Per the SSH bylaws the role of the Governance committee is:
“The governance committee shall be responsible for developing processes to ensure annual board evaluation/quality of performance, board orientation, conflict of interest disclosure, management and resolution, and ongoing board education. The Governance committee shall also be responsible for performing an annual Bylaws review by the end of the first quarter of the fiscal year (September 30th), as required to effectively provide oversight of the Society’s institutional integrity and governance. The Governance committee shall conduct an annual review of board committee functions and structure. The Governance Committee shall provide recommendations for Bylaw changes and guidance to The Board of Directors for documenting and implementing modifications to the Society’s operational or governance structure. The Governance committee shall also be responsible for developing the process and ensuring implementation of an annual performance review of the Executive Director.”

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Bylaws Committee, we request that you include a brief, focused CV and a statement of interest (300 words of less), to convey your interest in serving as a committee member. Your statement of interest should include experience relating to the Governance Committee charge noted in the bylaws above including but not limited to: service on a non-profit board, governance committee, or bylaws committee. The terms of service will range from one (1) to three (3) years. Members of the Governance committee should plan to attend monthly virtual meetings.
