Your Fellows of the SSH Academy (FSSH) have been busy during IMSH Delivers!

We have been able to highlight the great simulation work of many Fellows through the Bringing Sim to Life Lecture Series that has run every Tuesday since IMSH Delivers began back in mid-January. If you have missed any of these truly insightful sessions, don’t worry — they have been recorded and will remain available to all registrants for the entire year.

And, if you haven’t registered for IMSH Delivers, there is still time to do so — all the way until April 15! The best part? For SSH members who don’t need CEUs, all of these presentations (along with all recorded sessions) are free until the end of 2021! The ONLY catch is you have to register before April 15.

Currently, the SSH Academy is working on a few projects, notably:

  • Development of an SSH Speakers Bureau. This resource will connect FSSH with those who are in need of speakers at conferences or events, and will support bringing the expertise of the FSSH to the healthcare simulation community by helping make the connections.
  •  Development of Masters Classes. These classes will be targeted towards specific groups with identified needs for purposes of supporting the professional growth of the attendees. These courses will be very valuable in helping move your career forward in healthcare simulation and support improving simulation expertise.
  • The second cohort of the Virtual Scholars Program is in progress (joint project with the Research Committee). Designed to help novice researchers improve their ability to conduct research, and grounded in a heavy mentorship process, this year-long program culminates in a presentation of projects at IMSH.

Ready to apply to become an FSSH?

Have you made outstanding and sustained contributions to SSH and the healthcare simulation community? If so, now may be the time to join the 91 individuals from 12 countries who have been recognized as a Fellow of the SSH Academy (FSSH). This prestigious group of individuals has helped to shape SSH and the healthcare simulation community as we know it today. Collectively, the group continues to grow our future path and project directions of SSH as well as influence and advance the art, science, and practice of healthcare simulation.

Start your path to joining the SSH Fellows here. Download the Self-Assessment Worksheet and look at the requirements to apply. In short, you will need to select two references (it is highly recommended that at least one be an FSSH), have a simulation-specific CV, and complete an online application. Applications are due by June 18. We will open the online application soon, so look for that coming info!
