Marie Gilbert serves as the Chair for the SSH Nursing Section.  She has been a member of SSIH for ten years.   She is a nationally certified healthcare simulation educator and currently holds the position of Director at the Central California Center for Excellence in Nursing, College of Health and Human Services at California State University, Fresno. Her professional interests include the use of simulation and interprofessional education to promote collaborative practice, patient safety, medical errors, and assessment and evaluation.

Vice Chair

Linda Wilson, PhD, RN, CNE, CNEcl, CHSE-A, ANEF, FAAN

Linda Wilson, PhD, RN, CNE, CNEcl, CHSE-A, ANEF, FAAN serves as Vice Chair of the Nursing Section. Linda is the Assistant Dean for Continuing Education, Simulation and Events and a Clinical Professor at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. Linda can be reached via email at Lbw25@drexel.edu

 

Secretary

Lisa Sparacino

Lisa serves as the Secretary for the SSH Nursing section. She is a certified nurse educator with expertise in simulation, critical care, and physical assessment. She is also a certified healthcare simulation educator. Lisa currently she holds the position of Assistant professor and Chair Department of Nursing New York Institute of Technology. Dr. Sparacino’s research interests are in simulation, role transition, and educational technology.

Mission

The mission of the SSH Nursing Section is to support healthcare simulation through networking, education, and research among those in nursing, and through collaboration with the interprofessional simulation community.

Vision
The vision of the SSH Nursing Section is to lead healthcare simulation in nursing education and clinical practice.

Goals

  1. Increase Nursing Section member involvement by providing opportunities for  collaboration with other Nursing Section members
  2. Increase collaboration within the society by connecting Nursing Section members with members of other interest groups and committee
  3. Collaborate with external partners to promote healthcare simulation in nursing education and practice.
