Testing announcement - Monday, June 20, 2022

This is an announcement!

In six short weeks, we will gather in San Diego for IMSH 2024!

IMSH last met in San Diego in 2020, just before the world as we knew it shut down with the Covid pandemic and left few of us unchanged. Like SSH, many organizations switched to virtual meetings; however, virtual cannot take the place of the hands-on experience of meeting face to face, sharing comraderies, and networking turning to friendships.

In addition to the excellent and full slate of education offerings, exhibitors provide new and exciting technology, equipment, and cutting-edge products in the rapidly changing science of medical simulation.

We consistently look to industry to provide a pulse on what is happening in the world of medical simulation, with year-round opportunities for industry to engage with our SSH community as it cultivates stronger relationships with academia.

At that forefront of that relationship building, this is an opportune time to recognize a key group behind the IMSH Exhibit Hall experience -- the SSH Corporate Roundtable  -- who also strives to support that industry/academia connection. We at SSH value every single member of the Roundtable, and I want to point out that CR members are highlighted in various ways throughout IMSH, including in the official program book and more.

Whenever you can, interact with our industry partners and keep in mind the valuable resource they are for the simulation community.

An interesting spin-off point for a moment, if I may, on how Corporate Roundtable took on its name…

Arthurian legends tell of a great Round Table in King Arthur's court at Camelot at which the king held meetings with his knights. Usually, a king sat at the head of a royal table with his closest companions gathered around him.

However, because the roundtable had no head or foot, none of the knights who sat at it could claim a more important position than the others in Arthur’s Court. Thus, it is also a terrific way to reflect on the equal participation among the industry partners existing on the Corporate Roundtable for the benefit of medical simulation worldwide.

So, now you know!

Finally, from myself and Olivia, thank you, again, to our sponsors this year at IMSH 2024. We can’t put on the world’s best and biggest healthcare simulation conference without you!

Sincerely,

Judy Larson
SSH Director of Meetings & Exhibits
