Do You Recognize These Names?

Kacey Call. Albert Muhumuza. Didina Barbalata. Amir Jamal Mansour.

If you don’t, these incredibly deserving individuals were recipients of a Beverlee Anderson Education Fund Scholarship for IMSH 2023 and IMSH 2024.

Named after the founding Executive Director of SSH, these important need-based scholarships help defray the costs of attending IMSH for simulation professionals early in their career trajectory.

That’s important because, if you’ve attended IMSH and experienced what a remarkable conference it is year after year, you know being able to actively participate in all that IMSH has to offer can be an inspiring and life-changing event. Many IMSH attendees are fortunate in that their employer can cover most, if not all of the cost, of attendance, but not everyone is that lucky.

That’s why SSH offers the Beverlee Anderson Education Scholarships — so that even more healthcare simulation professionals, regardless of level, have the opportunity to attend.

The demand is great, however, and SSH receives far more eligible, high-quality applications than there are scholarships. The answer to that challenge is the SSH Fund, which offers a way for those who are interested to pitch in and provide support. Beverlee Anderson Education Scholarships are one of four principal initiatives currently receiving additional funding through donations to the SSH Fund.

Those crucial donations then become the following for Scholarship recipients:

  • Full registration for IMSH 2025
  • One preconference course registration
  • One year of SSH Full Membership
  • $1,000 travel stipend reimbursed

Thanks to support from generous individuals, like you, there will be more Beverlee Anderson Scholarships available for the 25th Anniversary of IMSH in Orlando, January 10-14. The exact number of recipients should be announced later in May, following the SSH Board of Directors meeting.

Join us in moving the needle toward a vibrant and exciting future for healthcare simulation by supporting the SSH Fund. Learn more at sshfund.org.

Until next time,

Jeff Hale
SSH Director of Development
